Ladies thirds lose out again to Ballymena.

On Friday night North Down Ladies thirds hosted Ballymena seconds at home. Having lost to them by two goals at the start of the season the home team were determine to reverse this result.

North Down started the game off strongly putting pressure on the Ballymena defence line from forwards Hilary West, Kirsty McCrory and Ashleigh Hamilton. As the game progressed play became more even and home goalkeeper Helena Press kept the defence on their toes clearing any attacking play with ease.

Shortly after half time a spell of pressure from Ballymena resulted in them getting onto the scoreboard. North Down fought back and with minutes to spare the midfield worked the ball up the pitch and into the Ballymena net however the goal was disallowed to send Ballymena home with all 3 points.

Despite the result this was a great team performance from the ladies thirds and many thanks to Laura Campbell for umpiring.
